Where we work

Plan International Regional Hub for the Middle East, Eastern and Southern Africa

We work across 17 countries, supporting every part of a girl’s world — not just one piece of it. With deep community roots, strong partnerships and decades of trust, we stand with girls when and where they need us most. We respond in moments of crisis, save lives, and stay with girls as they grow — adapting and evolving with them at every stage of life.

Across the region, violations of children’s and girls’ rights remain a critical concern. Girls face barriers driven by harmful practices, restrictive social norms and gaps in policy and protection. These challenges shape our strategic choices and guide how we strengthen programmes to deliver better, more lasting outcomes for girls.

The region also responds to humanitarian crises where we can add value — working alongside communities and partners to protect girls, uphold their rights and support recovery and resilience.

We aim to reach over 37 million people, including girls, boys, children, youth and adults, in the different countries between 2019 and 2026.
