Plan International Dominican Republic

We advance children’s rights and equality for girls in Dominican Republic

We stand with girls and young women so they can live safely, break down barriers and lead change in their communities. Because when girls lead, we all move forward.

Barriers that limit girls now and in the future still exist. In the Dominican Republic, many girls and young women face violence, early marriage, teenage pregnancy and inequality, which hinder their education, well-being and opportunities. But girls are speaking out, organising themselves and leading change in their communities.

Together with them, their families and communities, we have been working in over 130 communities since 1987 to strengthen protection against violence, promote education, develop their skills and support their leadership. In these spaces, girls defend their rights every day and bring about real change that impacts society as a whole.

We won’t stop until we’re all equal!
