Health risks rise when survival takes priority
Roxana, a project facilitator with Plan International, shares the stories and spirit behind the humanitarian response to growing health risks.

We support girls to break down barriers and build a world where equal opportunities drive progress for everyone.
In Peru, girls face growing risks. Violence persists, emergencies and climate change disrupt their education, and many have limited opportunities to build a better future. Despite this, girls are speaking out, organising themselves and leading change. We stand firmly beside them.
Together with girls, their families and communities, we work to protect them from violence, ensure learning continues even in emergency situations, and strengthen the skills they need to choose their own path.
In Peru, we have been working with over 612 communities since 1994, and we have seen how girls can make a real difference. Because when girls lead, communities rise.
We won’t stop until we’re all equal!
