Plan International Tanzania

Girls in Tanzania are pushed out of school before they can finish their education, lack access to health services, and are not safe from violence and harmful practices.

They grow up with limited choices, are denied opportunities and kept out of decision-making, simply because they are girls.

Since 1991 we’ve worked alongside girls, their families, and their communities to create change for girls that lasts.

Girls are listened to and supported to take part in decisions that affect their lives, while communities address beliefs that limit girls’ opportunities.

We work with schools, health services, and government services so girls get support that is safe, easy to reach and they can trust.

Girls are staying in school, claiming the services they need, and helping make environments safer across Tanzania.

Communities are taking action to support girls’ rights, and systems are becoming stronger and more responsive.

This is how we stand with girls so they can grow, learn, and lead in their communities:

  • Supporting girls to stay in school and complete their education in a fair and safe environment.
We won’t stop until we are all equal.
