We're responding to the needs of children and families affected by escalating conflict in Lebanon.

What is the situation in Lebanon?

The Ministry of Education in Lebanon has closed all educational institutions. 900 public schools (73% of all schools) have been designated as potential shelters.

The closure of schools and conversion into shelters risks long-term disruption to education for hundreds of thousands of children.

Large-scale displacement from southern Lebanon, Beirut’s southern suburbs, and the Beqaa is placing significant strain on urban areas receiving displaced people.

Overcrowded shelters are creating heightened risks related to health, sanitation, protection, and child safeguarding.

All shelters are at full capacity, while displacement continues to increase.

Plan is supporting children and families

Plan International Lebanon teams continue to respond to the urgent needs of internally displaced people amid the ongoing hostilities, working in coordination with national authorities and partners to deliver life-saving assistance.

Behind every response are families facing uncertainty, loss, and displacement. Our commitment remains focused on supporting children and families, protecting dignity, and helping meet essential needs during this difficult time.
