Inclusive education
We are committed to ensuring that every child has access to safe, inclusive, quality education without discrimination.
Every child and young person has the right to access safe, inclusive, quality education. However, 273 million children and youth across the world are currently out of school.
Across the globe, hard-won gains that kept girls learning, safe and shaping their futures are being stripped away — fast. Millions of girls are being pushed out of classrooms, not because they lack potential, but because inequality blocks their path.
Children and girls in all their diversity, including those living with disabilities, those that are LGBTIQ+, indigenous, minority ethnic or racialised groups, children living in contexts of conflict and crisis, and children living in poor and remote areas are most often denied access to education. We promote free, equal access to quality education for all children – from early learning to secondary education.
Every day, girls supported by Plan stay in education longer, build confidence and lead change in their communities. When girls learn, families grow stronger and entire communities benefit — because when girls lead, the ripple effect is limitless.
We support every part of a girl’s world. Plan backs girls to lead on what matters most: staying in school, learning safely and shaping their own futures. With deep community roots and trusted partnerships, we work alongside families, communities and governments to remove the barriers holding girls back.
